Tell your state to restore felon voting rights!
Did you know that an estimated 6 million people have lost their right to vote due to felon disenfranchisement laws? This terrible practice exists in states across the country, and in its worst forms, permanently deprives people of their right to vote, even after they’ve served their sentence.
Two states—Vermont and Maine—allow everyone to vote, regardless of their criminal history. At the other end of the spectrum, several states make all felons permanently ineligible to vote. In between, every other state places some restrictions on felons’ ability to participate in our democracy.
Committing a felony should never disenfranchise someone for life. Once they’ve served their time, they deserve the right to vote.
Tell your state reps: end felon disenfranchisement!
Let’s make our democracy more democratic.
